Aces’ Beckford-Tseu Named Rbk Hockey
ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Chris Beckford-Tseu of the Alaska Aces is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 6-12.

Beckford-Tseu is the first goaltender in 2005-06 to capture the honor three times, winning for Oct. 24-30 and Nov. 14-20, and becomes the fourth goaltender in league history to receive the weekly goaltender award three times in one season.

Selected in the fifth round (159th overall) by St. Louis in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Blues, the 21-year-old went 3-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.33 against Phoenix, stopping 68 of 72 shots for a save percentage of .944.

After making 20 saves in a 6-1 win on Feb. 10, Beckford-Tseu stopped 25 shots in a 4-1 win on Feb. 11 and had 23 saves in a 5-2 win on Feb. 12.

Beckford-Tseu, who has served as the backup goaltender for St. Louis on two separate occasions this season, is 16-1-2 with two shutouts and he leads the league with a goals-against average of 1.87 and is second with a save percentage of .929. He is a perfect 12-0-0 at home with a shutout, a goals-against average of 1.48 and a save percentage of .939.
