PRINCETON, N.J. – Alaska left wing Charles Linglet is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the First Round of the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The 22-year-old Linglet scored nine points (4g-5a) in five games during the West Division Semifinals, including two goals in the Aces 6-2 win in the deciding Game 5. It was the third multiple-point game in the series for Linglet, who scored a goal and had an assist in the Aces win in Game 1 and scored a goal and had two assists in Alaska’s 3-1 win in Game 2. Linglet leads the postseason with nine points and is tied for the lead with four goals while his five assists tie him for second.
The 6-2 and 218-pound left wing ranked third on the Aces during the regular season with 62 points (28g-34a) in 72 games. In his first professional season with Alaska in 2003-04, Linglet scored 55 points (20g-35a) in 62 regular season games and seven points (2g-5a) in seven postseason games. Linglet, who was voted by league coaches to be a starter for the Western Conference in the 2004 ECHL All-Star Game, also played in the American Hockey League with Utah, recording two penalty minutes in seven games.
