Former ECHL coach Rick Adduono has been named head coach of the Iserlohn Roosters in the Deutsche Hockey League in Germany.

He coached seven seasons in the ECHL with Greensboro, Long Beach, Pensacola, and South Carolina, which won the Kelly Cup championship in 1997 and 2001 with him behind the bench.

His teams finished with 40 or more wins four times and advanced to the Kelly Cup Playoffs five times, including 2003 when Greensboro made the postseason for the first time in five seasons after setting team records with 42 wins and 93 points, a 39-point increase from the previous year and at the time the fourth-largest point increase in ECHL history.

The 54 year old had more than 70 players called up to the American Hockey League and is 266-203-51 in the regular season and 23-17 in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, ranking sixth all-time in career games and seventh in career wins.
