Aeros Sign James

HOUSTON – The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed left wing Mike James, who played for Johnstown and Toledo in 2004-05.

In his first full professional season in 2004-05, the 23-year-old had 30 points (11g-19a) and 207 penalty minutes in 58 games with Johnstown and four points (1g-3a) and 28 penalty minutes in seven regular season games and 17 penalty minutes in three Kelly Cup Playoff games with Toledo.

The 6-foot and 187-pound James began his professional career in 2003-04 and had an injury-plagued season with Johnstown, registering had four points (1g-3a) and 73 penalty minutes in 20 regular season games while also playing one Kelly Cup Playoff game.

The 23-year-old James played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Ottawa, Windsor and Mississauga, accumulating 89 points (46g-43a) and 219 penalty minutes in 162 regular season games and 16 points (8g-8a) and 40 penalty minutes in 22 playoff games.
