Aiello Returns To Thunder

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League 9;s Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, and head coach Matt Thomas announced today the team has re-signed defenseman Anthony Aiello.

Aiello, 24, led all Thunder defensemen with 27 points (7g-20a) in 54 games last season as a rookie and was second among the team’s blueliners with 20 assists and a +13 rating.

In the postseason, the 6-foot-1, 196-pound defenseman was second on the club with five power-play assists and recorded four multi-point games and nine points (1g-8a) in 15 playoff games.

He was originally acquired by the Thunder from the Florida Everblades on Dec. 1, 2009 in exchange for future considerations and selected in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.
