Alaska's Reid named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – James Reid of the Alaska Aces is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 12-19.

The 21-year-old was 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .949 in two appearances for the Aces last week.

Reid opened the week with 16 saves in a 4-1 win at Colorado on Wednesday and followed that up with 21 saves in a 5-1 win against the Eagles on Saturday, helping the Aces to clinch their sixth division title in nine ECHL seasons.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Reid has appeared in seven games with Alaska, going 5-1-1 with a 1.56 goals-against average and a save percentage of .931. He has held the opposition to one goal in five of his seven starts, and has allowed more than two goals just once.

Under contract to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, Reid has also appeared in five games with the Monsters this season, and saw action in three games with Allen of the Central Hockey League.

Prior to turning pro, Reid appeared in 128 games over three seasons with Spokane of the Western Hockey League posting a record of 85-30-9 with 13 shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.34 and a .917 save percentage.

Runners Up: Jason Missiaen, Greenville (2-0-0, 1.44 GAA, .961 save pct.), Riley Gill, Kalamazoo (2-1-1, 1.71 GAA, .933 save pct.) and Jean-Francois Berube, Ontario (2-1-0, 1.64 GAA, .944 save pct.).

Also Nominated: Bryan Pitton (Bakersfield), Rob Madore (Chicago), Brian Stewart (Elmira), John Muse (Florida), Jerry Kuhn (Idaho), Mark Owuya (Reading), Billy Sauer (South Carolina) and Alec Richards (Toledo).
