Alaska Signs Metcalf

ANCHORAGE – The Alaska Aces announced that they have signed defenseman Peter Metcalf. Alaska is the ECHL affiliate of St. Louis in the National Hockey League and Peoria of the American Hockey League.

In 2004-05, the 26-year-old had 22 points (4g-18a) and 97 penalty minutes in 38 regular season games and one goal and four penalty minutes in four Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Idaho Steelheads and five points (2g-3a) and 53 penalty minutes in 31 games with Utah of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (267th overall) by Toronto in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Metcalf played for Atlantic City as a rookie in 2002-03 scoring 13 points (2g-11a) in 18 regular season games and 10 points (4g-6a) in 19 postseason games while helping the Bullies win the Kelly Cup. He also had six assists in 40 games with Providence of the AHL.
