The 26-year-old was 2-0-0 with a goals against average of 0.96 and a save percentage of .962 in two appearances against Las Vegas during the opening weekend of the 2011-12 season. He turned aside 25 of 26 shots in regulation and overtime and stopped four of five shootout attempts on Friday in a 2-1 win and followed that up with 25 more saves in a 5-1 victory against the Wranglers on Saturday.
A native of Evanston, Ill., Coleman was named to the All-ECHL First Team and was selected as ECHL Goaltender of the Year last season with Alaska after leading the ECHL with a 2.19 goals-against average and tying for the league lead with 30 wins and four shutouts.
Coleman has appeared in 147 ECHL games with Johnstown, Augusta, Phoenix, Trenton and Alaska posting an overall record of 81-47-11 with eight shutouts, a 2.63 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908. Coleman also has 81 games of American Hockey League experience with Springfield, Portland, Worcester and Lowell and two games of National Hockey League experience with Tampa Bay.
