Alaska’s Novak Suffers Season-Ending Injury

ANCHORAGE – The Alaska Aces announced that center Vladimir Novak will miss the remainder of the regular season and the Kelly Cup Playoffs after suffering a tibial plateau fracture in a game at Long Beach on Mar. 17.

He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday and is expected to make a full recovery by the time Alaska opens training camp for 2007-08.

In his third professional season, Novak has career highs with 18 goals, 20 assists and 38 points in 63 games and is second in the ECHL with a plus-minus rating of +30.

The defending Brabham Cup and Kelly Cup champion Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.
