Stockton, Calif – The Stockton Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders and the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have re-signed defenseman Ryan Constant, who will suit up for his sixth season in Stockton.
Constant, 29, ranks second on the Thunder’s all-time games played list with 279 games under his belt. He also ranks fifth all-time in goals (39), second all-time in assists (95) and third all-time in points (134).
The Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba native is coming off of the most successful pro campaign of his career despite missing 16 games. In 56 games, Constant registered 36 points (8g-28a) and was voted the Thunder’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Constant began his pro career in 2006-07 with the Charlotte Checkers and Hartford Wolf Pack before playing for the Thunder and Springfield Falcons of the AHL in 2008-09. The defenseman played two more seasons with the Thunder before heading over to Italy’s second division to play for Milano Rossoblu in 2011-12. Constant returned to the ECHL, and the Thunder, in 2012-13.
