Baby Penguins Recall McLean, Sign Franck

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that center Kurtis McLean has been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and that goaltender Andy Franck has been signed to a professional tryout by the AHL team.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

In his second professional season and under AHL contract to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the 26-year-old McLean has 24 points (11g-13a) tying him for fifth in the ECHL in goals and scoring.

The 25-year-old Franck is 7-9-0 with a goals-against average of 3.53 and a save percentage of .901 in 16 games.
