Bakersfield Fans Donate 5,475 Stuffed Animals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that 5,475 stuffed animals were tossed from the stands during the Eighth-Annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by 29 Eyewitness News, KERN 1410 AM and Wells Fargo Bank.

It took 40 volunteers and 15 minutes to clean up the stuffed animals which were tossed by the 8,743 fans, which is the fourth-largest crowd in team history, following the team’s first goal.

The stuffed animals will be donated to the United Way which distributes them among 32 local organizations.

In the eight years that it has held the Teddy Bear Toss, Bakersfield has gathered 37,829 stuffed animals.
