Bakersfield's Trupp named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Evan Trupp of the Bakersfield Condors is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 6-12.

 

The 24-year-old left wing scored three goals, added three assists and was a +6 last week as the Condors went 3-0-0.

 

Trupp tallied three points (1g-2a) and was +3 in a 2-1 win at Utah on Wednesday and closed the week with two goals, an assist and another +3 rating in a 4-3 shootout win against Las Vegas on Saturday. Trupp scored a highlight-reel goal in the game that has received over 26,000 views on YouTube.

 

A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Trupp has 10 points (3g-7a) in 12 games with the Condors after being acquired in a trade with Cincinnati on Jan. 12. He had 12 points (2g-10a) in 20 games with the Cyclones.

 

Prior to turning pro, Trupp scored 108 points (40g-68a) in 157 games over four years with the University of North Dakota.

 

On behalf of Evan Trupp, a case of pucks will be donated to a Bakersfield youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 25,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
