BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that they have signed defenseman Jay Langager, who recently completed his career at the University of Lethbridge.
Langager is recovering from a shoulder injury and was placed on injured reserve after being signed.
The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound Langager scored 13 points (3g-10a) in 30 games for Lethbridge and was named Canadian Interuniversity Most Valuable Player, First Team Canadian Interuniversity Sport All-Star, Canada West MVP, Canada West Outstanding Defenseman and Canada West First Team All-Star.
The 26-year-old played three professional seasons from 2001-04 and helped Greenville win the Kelly Cup championship as a rookie in 2001-02. He had 77 points (13g-64a) and 141 penalty minutes in 193 regular season games and one assist and eight penalty minutes in 17 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Greenville and Johnstown of the ECHL and six penalty minutes in 14 games with Chicago and Saint John of the American Hockey League.
