Bakersfield’s Balan Suffers Season-Ending Injury

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that defenseman Scott Balan will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in a 2-1 shootout win against Utah on Mar. 7.

Balan is expected to miss six to eight months, but should be ready to return at the beginning of the 2007-08 season.

In his fifth professional season, the 24-year-old had 13 points (3g-10a) and 110 penalty minutes in 56 games with Bakersfield.
