Binghamton Hires Checkers’ Severance

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League announced that they have hired Tom Severance of the Charlotte Checkers as their equipment manager.

A native of Binghamton, Severance was hired as the Checkers equipment manager in December 2001.

He was voted by his peers as the ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year in 2003 and was voted by his peers to be the equipment manager for the 2004 ECHL All-Star Game.

Severance has worked in the National Hockey League with New Jersey and the New York Islanders and in the ECHL with New Orleans. He also worked for the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA baseball team.

Severance replaces Scott Allegrino, a former equipment manager in Wheeling of the ECHL who was hired as equipment manager for the Ottawa Senators of the NHL
