Blackhawks Assign Berti To Falcons

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that the Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned left wing Adam Berti from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League to Fresno.

The Falcons are the ECHL affiliate of the Blackhawks of the NHL and the IceHogs of the AHL. Mike Haviland, who is one of two coaches to lead two different teams to the Kelly Championship, and John Torchetti, who was a coach and player in the ECHL, are assistant coaches for the Blackhawks.

Selected in the third round (68th overall) by Chicago in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 22 year old has one goal and five penalty minutes in four games with Rockford.

Berti became the 355th player to play in the NHL after the ECHL when he made his debut with the Chicago Blackhawks on Apr. 5. He was was one of six players who played in both the ECHL and the NHL in 2007-08 joining Chris Beckford-Tseu (Alaska and St. Louis), Joe Jensen (Wheeling and Carolina), Dan LaCosta (Elmira and Columbus), Jonathan Quick (Reading and Los Angeles) and Danny Taylor (Reading and Los Angeles).

He had five points (2g-3a) in four games with Pensacola in 2007-08 while also playing for Rockford where he had seven points (2g-5a) and 68 penalty minutes in 42 regular season games.
