Blackhawks Assign Fallon, Turner To Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League have assigned rookie goaltender Joe Fallon and rookie defenseman Brennan Turner to Fresno.

The Falcons are the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Mike Haviland, who is one of two coaches to lead two different teams to the Kelly Championship, and John Torchetti, who was a coach and player in the ECHL, are assistant coaches for the Blackhawks.

Selected in the sixth round (167th overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Fallon has played the last four seasons at Vermont University where he was 63-51-17 with 20 shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.05 and a save percentage of .916 in 132 games.

Selected in the fifth round (134th overall) by Chicago in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Turner played the last three years at Yale University where he had three assists and 146 penalty minutes in 58 games.
