Blues Assign Fast, Kana To Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska Aces announced that the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League have reassigned forward Tomas Kana and rookie defenseman T.J. Fast to Alaska.

The Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League. The head coach of the Rivermen is Davis Payne, who was the 2007 ECHL Coach of the Year.

Selected in the second round (31st overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Fast has two penalty minutes in five games with Peoria. He had two goals and four penalty minutes in 12 games with the Aces in 2007-08 while also playing in the Czech Republic where he had two points (1g-1a) and six penalty minutes in eight games for Vitkovice and one assist and 10 penalty minutes in five games for Slovan.

Selected in the second round (60th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Fast has one assist in two games with Peoria.
