ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League announced that they have hired former ECHL All-Star athletic trainer Mike Hannegan as assistant athletic trainer.
The Alaska Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the Blues of the NHL and Peoria of the American Hockey League.
Hannegan was the athletic trainer for Las Vegas in its first three seasons and was voted by his peers to work the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game. He was also the athletic trainer for Richmond and Macon of the ECHL. He worked his ninth season in professional hockey in 2008-09 as the athletic trainer for Peoria.
He has his bachelor’s degree in athletic training and exercise physiology from Chapman University and his master’s degree in science and athletic training from California University at Pennsylvania.
