Bridgeport Signs ECHL Goaltender
Of The Year, All-Star Madden

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Year Chris Madden. Former Charlotte assistant coach David Baseggio is the head coach of the Sound Tigers and former Wheeling coach Pat Bingham is an assistant coach.

The 26-year-old Madden was also voted First Team All-ECHL and was selected as the starter for the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game, stopping 12 of 13 shots in the first period. Madden also played in the 2002 ECHL All-Star Game stopping eight of nine shots.

In 28 games with Long Beach in 2004-05, the 6-1 an 177-pound Madden was 19-5-2 with five shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .941 in 28 games. He also played in the AHL with Providence going 5-4-0 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.85 and a save percentage of .933 in 13 games.
