Bruins Recall Brown From Long Beach
Ice Dogs Sign Abbott, Hokom

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced that goaltender Mike Brown has been recalled by the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.

Long Beach also announced that they have signed rookie left wing Cam Abbott and that they have signed Erik Hokom as an emergency goaltender.

The Ice Dogs are the ECHL affiliate of the Bruins of the NHL and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (153rd overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Brown was 1-4-2 with a goals-against average of 3.15 and a save percentage of .892 in seven games with Long Beach. He began the season in the AHL with Providence, but did not appear in a game.

The 23-year-old Abbott began the season with Stockton and had four penalty minutes in two games with the Thunder.
