Bullies Acquire Mather

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies announced the acquisition of center Shawn Mather from the Johnstown Chiefs in exchange for future considerations. Mather is expected to be in the lineup for Atlantic City when it travels to Wheeling on Thursday.

The 25-year-old Mather led the Chiefs with five game-winning goals and was tied for the team lead with 19 goals and 43 points in 53 games.

Mather began his professional career in the ECHL in 2001-02 with New Orleans and has played the last three seasons with Johnstown. In 212 career regular season ECHL games, Mather has 150 points (64g-86a), including a career-high 23 goals, 31 assists and 54 points in 68 regular season games for Johnstown in 2003-04, and three points (2g-1a) in nine career Kelly Cup Playoff games.

He has also played in the American Hockey League with Saint John, Binghamton and Cleveland, scoring seven points (2g-5a) in 44 regular season games and three points (2g-1a) in nine postseason games.
