Bulls' Heemskerk recalled to San Jose
SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Bulls, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks, announced today that the Sharks have recalled goaltender Thomas Heemskerk.
Heemskerk, 22, gets his first NHL call-up. He is 13-18-2 with the Bulls this season, with a 3.16 goals-against-average and a .904 save percentage. In his rookie season in 2011-12, he appeared in four games with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League, going 0-1-0. He also appeared in 25 games with the Stockton Thunder, going 13-12-0 with a 3.27 goals-against average.
The Chilliwack, British Columbia native played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Kootenay, Everett and Moose Jaw posting an overall record of 91-58-19 with nine shutouts, a 2.81 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
