CALGARY, Alberta – The Calgary Flames announced that they have signed former Las Vegas goaltender Brent Krahn. The Las Vegas Wranglers are the ECHL affiliate of Calgary and Omaha of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the first round (ninth overall) by Calgary in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Krahn was 7-5-1 with a goals-against average of 2.61 and a save percentage of .925 in 14 games with Las Vegas in 2003-04 while also playing in the AHL with Lowell and San Antonio.
In 2004-05 with Lowell of the AHL, the 23-year-old Krahn was 20-11-2 with six shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.49 and a save percentage of .923 in 35 games. He was named AHL Goaltender of the Month for November and also earned AHL Player of the Week honors.
