Canadiens Re-Sign Streit

MONTREAL, Quebec – The Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed defenseman Mark Streit, who played for Tallahassee in the ECHL in 1999-2000.

The Long Beach Ice Dogs are the ECHL affiliate of the Canadiens and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (262nd overall) by Montreal in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Streit played 48 games in his first NHL season in 2005-06. The 28-year-old had 11 points (2g-9a) and 28 penalty minutes.
