Canucks Assign Rookie Heshka To Victoria

VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Victoria Salmon Kings announced that the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League have assigned rookie defenseman Shaun Heshka to the team from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

The Salmon Kings are the ECHL affiliate of the Canucks of the NHL and the Moose of the AHL.

In his first professional season and under NHL contract to Vancouver, the 21-year-old has played two games for Manitoba, but has not recorded any points or penalty minutes.

He played the last three seasons in the Western Hockey League where he had 107 points (25g-82a) and 137 penalty minutes in 204 regular season games and 17 points (5g-12a) and 24 penalty minutes in 46 playoff games for Everett.
