Capitals Assign Pokulok To South Carolina

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie defenseman Sasha Pokulok from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League to South Carolina.

Selected in the first round (14th overall) by Washington in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Capitals, the 20-year-old, who has played in only one game for Hershey because of injury, is expected to be in the lineup for the Stingrays on Thursday against Charlotte.

South Carolina is the ECHL affiliate of the Capitals of the NHL and the Calder Cup champion Bears of the AHL.
