Capitals Extend Offer To Mink

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals announced that they have tendered a qualifying contract offer to left wing Graham Mink, who played in the ECHL in his first professional season in 2001-02.

The South Carolina Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of Washington of the NHL and Hershey of the American Hockey League.

The 26-year-old Mink scored 39 points (18g-21a) and had 86 penalty minutes in 63 games with Portland of the AHL in 2004-05.

Signed as a free agent by Washington on April 9, 2002, the 6-3 and 217-pound Mink scored 17 points (8g-9a) in 29 games with Richmond in 2001-02 while also scoring 34 points (17g-17a) in 56 games with Portland of the American Hockey League.

In 2003-04, Mink had two penalty minutes in two games with the Capitals while scoring 37 points (18g-19a) in 68 regular season games with Portland.
