Capitals Reassign Rookie Werner To Hershey
Stingrays Loan Reid To Bears

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League have reassigned rookie right wing Stephen Werner to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. The team also announced that center Matt W. Reid has been loaned to Hershey.

The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Capitals of the NHL and the Bears of the AHL.

Selected in the third round (83rd overall) by Washington in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Capitals, the 22-year-old Werner has 15 points (9g-6a) in 24 games with South Carolina and one assist and 22 penalty minutes in 12 games with Hershey.
