Captain Wild re-signs with Beast

Brampton, Ontario – The Brampton Beast announced that team captain Cal Wild has re-signed with the team for the 2015-16 season.

The Beast are the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League and the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Always a leader on the ice, Wild posted 25 points (9g-16a) in 59 games last season. He was also the recipient of the 2014-15 ECHL Community Service Award, as the veteran leader chose to support a number of new initiatives with his time, money and passion. Wild’s charity, the Cal’s Pals Foundation, continued to make a very real difference in the community, contributing to Kerry’s Place Autism Services, JDRF, the Children’s Wish Foundation, Wellspring Chinguacousy Cancer Support Centre and Special Olympics Ontario, and making a difference in the lives of hundreds of fans and families in the Peel region.

This latest award came on the heels of Cal winning the Central Hockey League’s "Man of the Year" honours in the Beast’s inaugural season, giving the talented captain the top community-related awards in the ECHL and former CHL in back-to-back seasons.
