Carruth went 7-2-0 with two shutouts, a 1.45 goals-against average and a save percentage of .951 in 10 appearances during the month.
The 22-year-old, who won his final seven starts in January, allowed two goals or less in seven of his nine starts during January, and made at least 26 saves in seven games. He stopped all 26 shots in a 1-0 win at Gwinnett on Jan. 19, and picked up his second shutout on Jan. 31, turning aside 41 shots in a 3-0 victory over Elmira.
Under contract to the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, Carruth has appeared in 22 games with Indy this season posting a record of 8-9-4 with two shutouts, a 2.53 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913. He has also won both of his appearances with Rockford of the American Hockey League this season.
A native of Jackson, Wyo., Carruth has appeared in 54 career ECHL games with Indy, Florida and Toledo posting an overall record of 18-28-5 with four shutouts, a 3.10 goals-against average and a save percentage of .901.
Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons with Portland in the Western Hockey League, where in his final season in 2012-13 he went 30-7-2 with seven shutouts, a 2.07 goals-against average and a save percentage of .929.
