LAS VEGAS - Four days removed from a 4-2 series loss to Cincinnati in the Kelly Cup Finals, Wranglers coach and general manager Glen Gulutzan was still reeling on Monday.
"It's an empty feeling, and I certainly don't like to talk about it, but the only way around it for me now is to try to move forward and start looking at next year," said Gulutzan, who has guided Las Vegas to a 146-38-32 record (324 points) the last three seasons. "We've got to tidy up some loose ends here, and we'd like to get some guys signed for next year. We have to look forward."
The loss still stung Wranglers right wing Peter Ferraro, who led the team in scoring in the regular season with 73 points and was second on the squad with 21 playoff points.
"As days go by, it's harder to deal with the loss, because I really thought this year was our year," he said. "I'm still in a bit of a state of shock that we didn't win."
