PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express their condolences to the family and friends of former ECHL player Rob Guinn, who died in an automobile accident in Iowa on Saturday.
Guinn’s vehicle was struck in the side when a driver ran a stop sign.
He is survived by his wife, Brooke, and a five-month old daughter, Olivia.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Selected in the eighth round (185th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1994 National Hockey League Draft, Guinn had 36 points (3g-33a) and 67 penalty minutes in 57 games for the Texas Wildcatters in 2003-04.
He played his first three seasons with the Elmira Jackals, then a member of the United Hockey League, and had 78 points (16g-62a) and 184 penalty minutes in 184 regular season games and seven points (2g-5a) and 36 penalty minutes in 23 playoff games.
