MONTREAL, Quebec - The Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed former ECHL All-Star Mike Glumac.
The Cincinnati Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the Canadiens of the NHL and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
In his first professional season in 2002-03, Glumac was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and selected to the ECHL All-Star Game while sharing the Plus Performer of the Year award which is presented annually "to the player who leads the league in plus-minus rating at the end of the regular season" after finishing with a plus-minus rating of +37. He led league rookies with 37 goals and tied for the rookie lead with seven game-winning goals while finishing fourth in rookie scoring with 69 points in 69 games.
The 29 year old led Hamilton in 2008-09 with 33 goals and 17 power-play goals and had 52 points in 66 regular season games.
The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound forward has 13 points (7g-6a) and 38 penalty minutes in 40 games in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues from 2005-08.
