This time of year is hockey’s version of the gold rush as minor-pro teams scramble for the best graduating free-agent juniors and collegians as the WHL, OHL, QMJHL, NCAA and CIS seasons end for the non-playoff teams.
Who will find that previously unearthed nugget?
The Victoria Salmon Kings think they have one in forward Mark Magnowski out of Princeton University — who will meet the club in California for tonight’s game against the Stockton Thunder — and potentially a bit later in Prab Rai, a 41-goal scorer this season with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL.
