Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, Berks Community Television (BCTV), B2 Networks, Boscov’s Travel, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines jointly announced a partnership to televise all Royals’ away games during the 2010-2011 season. The live television presentation, which is believed to be the first of its kind in minor professional hockey, will transmit the video feed provided through B2 Networks Technologies on all BCTV channels on cable networks throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Royals TV presented by Boscov’s Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines will launch it’s maiden voyage during the team’s tenth annual season opener on Saturday, October 16, 2010 (7:00 pm) when the Royals face the Trenton Devils at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey. Royals TV will carry all thirty-six regular season away games for the Royals, as well as all away playoff games, and will feature the simulcast audio feed of the Royals Radio Network courtesy of Clear Channel Broadcasting and WRAW 1340 am in Reading.
“We’re thrilled with the prospect of televising all of our road games this season,” said Gordon Kaye. “We believe that this is an unprecedented service for our fans in the Berks County community that would not be possible without the support and participation of our partners. In that regard, we’re especially indebted to the people at BCTV who have recognized that the Royals play an important role in our community. Also, this would not have been possible without the support of Boscov’s Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. We also want to thank our radio partners for permitting the simulcast of the game night audio broadcast. This is going to be an exciting new way for our fans to enjoy every Royals game this year—whether it’s live at the Sovereign Center or on BCTV.”
