Four Checkers Called Up

CHARLOTTE N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced that forwards Chris Chappell, Ryan Garlock and goaltender Matt Zaba were recalled to the American Hockey League by Hartford while forward Derek Couture has been loaned to the Wolf Pack.
It was also announced that Lake Erie of the AHL has assigned rookie goaltender Billy Sauer to Charlotte.
The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League and Hartford and Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. Former ECHL player Jerry Dineen is the video coach for the Rangers while former ECHL coach J.J. Daigneault is an assistant coach for Hartford.
