STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder's annual weekend dedicated to breast cancer awareness has done more than raise money to help combat the disease.
The event, in its fourth year, also has inspired others to assist in the fight.
After attending the inaugural "Thunder Goes Pink" in 2006, a group of youngsters, who now call themselves the "Kids For The Cure," decided to set up a lemonade stand to help out.
Mason and Gavin Merin, and Haley, Sidney and Lexey Seligman all have family members who have been affected by cancer. The group recently raised $11,000 selling lemonade, bringing their total donations to St. Joseph's Medical Center to $20,000.
