Condors’ Derlago Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week
PRINCETON, N.J. – Bakersfield Condors left wing Mark Derlago is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
The 22 year old, who is under contract to Manitoba of the American Hockey League, scored six points in his first two games of the season for Bakersfield.
Derlago scored three goals, including the game winner, and had an assist to lead Bakersfield to a 6-3 win at Ontario on Wednesday before scoring two points (1g-1a) in an 8-3 loss against Stockton on Saturday.
He led the Condors and ECHL rookies in 2007-08 with 39 goals and 15 power-play goals while ranking fourth on the team and among league rookies with 57 points in 68 regular season games. His goals are a team record while his points are a team rookie record. He tied for the team lead with four assists and was second on the team with six points in six Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Condors. He also played in the American Hockey League as a rookie and had five points (2g-3a) in four games for Manitoba.
Derlago played three seasons in the Western Hockey League from 2003-07 and had 162 points (82g-80a) in 209 regular season games and 13 points (8g-5a) in 28 playoff games for Brandon. He missed the entire 2004-05 season after suffering a broken neck in a preseason game.
On behalf of Mark Derlago, a case of pucks will be donated to a Bakersfield area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
