PRINCETON, N.J. - Glenn Fisher of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Mar. 9-15.
The 25 year old was 2-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of .983.
Fisher posted back-to-back wins against Idaho turning aside 25 of 26 shots in a 4-1 win on Friday and then stopping all 36 shots, including 17 in the third period, in a 3-0 win on Saturday.
Selected in the fifth round (148th overall) by Edmonton in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Oilers, the 6-foot-1 and 190-pound netminder is 7-5-1 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .939 in 13 games for the Wranglers. He has also played for Stockton where he is 2-0-1 with a goals-against average of 2.64 and in the American Hockey League with Springfield.
Fisher, who attended training camp with Edmonton, played in the ECHL as a rookie in 2007-08 and was 14-19-2 with two shutouts in 38 games for Stockton while also playing on game in the AHL with Springfield.
The native of Edmonton, Alberta played four seasons at the University of Denver where he was 39-22-6 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.71 and a save percentage of .900 and helped the Pioneers capture the national championship in 2004 and 2005.
