PRINCETON, N.J. - Elmira Jackals forward Justin Donati is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month for October.
The 23 year old led the league with 10 assists and tied for the league lead with 14 points while scoring in all seven games to help Elmira have its best start ever at 7-0-0.
He led all rookies in assists and points during the month and tied for the lead with six power-play points, one shorthand goal and one shorthand point while tying for second with three power-play goals and three power-play assists.
Donati had a seven-game assist streak (10a) and tied his career high with two assists in three games. He had four multiple-point games including a career-high four points and a career-best two goals on Oct. 23 against Johnstown.
He played for Las Vegas in 2007-08 and had 11 assists in 14 games for the Wranglers.
Donati has played the last two seasons for the University of Prince Edward Island where he had 58 points (22g-36a) in 31 games. He played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2003-07 and had 269 points (120g-149a) in 213 regular season games and 46 points (24g-22a) in 40 playoff games for Oshawa, Sudbury and Toronto.
