PRINCETON, N.J. – Scott Meyer of the Charlotte Checkers is the Sun National Bank East Coast Hockey League Saver of the Month for February.
The 26-year-old Meyer was 6-2-0 with two shutouts and a 1.94 goals against average as Charlotte went 8-4-0 in February. He had a .932 save percentage (204-for-219) in the month, ranking him second among ECHL goalies with at least 300 minutes in February.
He is 17-5-0 overall and ranks fourth in the ECHL with a 2.62 goals against average and is tied for fourth with four shootout wins.
The 6-1 and 185-pound Meyer posted back-to-back wins against Reading to open the month. He had 28 saves in a 3-2 win at Reading on February 1, and in a 5-4 shootout win against Reading on February 4 he made 22 saves and stopped four of the five shooters in the shootout. He made 30 saves in a 5-2 win against Greensboro on February 11, and had 24 saves in his first shutout of the season, an 8-0 win against Richmond on February 14.
