Checkers Agree To Terms
With Bellefeuille, Bruckler

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that they have agreed to terms with center Blake Bellefeuille and goaltender Bernd Bruckler.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The 27-year-old Bellefeuille, who will attend training camp with Springfield of the AHL, has played five professional seasons and has one assist in five games with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. In 2004-05, the 5-foot-10 and 215-pound Bellefeuille had 30 points (16g-14a) in 44 games with Danbury of the United Hockey League and also played one game in the AHL with Bridgeport.

Selected in the fifth round (150th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Bruckler is attending training camp with Hartford. Bruckler played four years at the University of Wisconsin where he was 51-41-16 with a save percentage of .916.
