Checkers Agree To Terms
With Guerin, McKee

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that they have agreed to terms with goaltender Dave McKee and forward Marty Guerin.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The 25-year-old Guerin had 50 points (18g-32a) and 66 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games and 16 points (9g-7a) and 19 penalty minutes in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games for the South Carolina Stingrays as a rookie in 2007-08.

Charlotte acquired the 24-year-old McKee from the Phoenix RoadRunners on Aug. 11 in exchange for forward Colin Sinclair. McKee was 6-10-4 with a goals-against average of 3.77 and a save percentage of .898 in 23 games for Phoenix, which acquired him from Augusta on Nov. 11, 2007 in exchange for defenseman Nick Toneys and future considerations, in 2007-08. He was 0-1-0 with a goals-against average of 8.52 and a save percentage of .806 in one game with the Lynx while also playing in the AHL where he was 0-2-0 with a goals-against average of 5.11 and a save percentage of .841 in two games with Iowa.
