PRINCETON, N.J. – Charlotte Checkers forward Mark Lee is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 12-18, 2007.
The Mount Pearl, Newfoundland native had two game-winning goals and 12 points (4g-8a) as the Checkers went 3-1-0 and moved into a tie for the fifth and final Kelly Cup Playoffs berth in the South Division.
After registering four assists in a 7-4 win against first-place Gwinnett on Mar. 13, the 22-year-old scored a season-high five points, including his first hat trick of the season with all three goals, including the game winner, scored on the power play in a 6-3 win at Columbia on Mar. 16. He scored the game-winning goal on the power play and had an assist in a 6-1 win against second-place Florida on Mar. 17 and extended his scoring streak to six games (4g-11a) with an assist in a 3-2 loss at Columbia on Mar. 18.
