Checkers Name Black COO
Charlotte Promotes Lynch, Osborne, Wilkinson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that Tera Black has been named Chief Operating Officer while Aaron Osborne and Shawn Lynch have been promoted to senior vice president and vice president, respectively.

It was also announced that head coach and general manager Derek Wilkinson has been promoted to vice president.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Black is only the fourth female in the 20-year history of the ECHL to run an organization and is the first female COO, a title she held from 2003-06 with San Diego. She has been with Charlotte since 2006 overseeing marketing, community relations, game operations, merchandise and non-profit organizations. The Checkers won ECHL Excellence In Marketing Awards in 2006-07 and 2007-08.
