Checkers Receive Skokan, Urquhart From Hartford

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League have reassigned rookie forward David Skokan and rookie defenseman David Urquhart to Charlotte.The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the Wolf Pack of the AHL and the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the seventh round (193rd overall) by the Rangers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, the 19-year-old Skokan has played the last three years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he had 96 points (39g-57a) and 297 penalty minutes in 158 regular season games and five assists and 10 penalty minutes in eight playoff games for Rimouski.

The 6-foot and 190-pound Urquhart has played the last four years at McGill University where he had 70 points (13g-57a) and 190 penalty minutes in 86 games.
