Cherniwchan returns to Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Andrew Cherniwchan.

 

Cherniwchan, 23, notched three goals in five regular-season games and added three points (2g-1a) in eight postseason contests for the Stingrays last season after finishing a four-year collegiate career at Northern Michigan University. With the Wildcats, the Hinton, Alberta, native earned 35 goals and 49 assists for 84 points in 146 games.

 

Before college, Cherniwchan skated three seasons of junior hockey with the Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL) and Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) netting 91 points (54g-37a) and 308 penalty minutes in 128 games.
