Chiefs’ Hrdel Recalled To Springfield

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Chiefs announced that left wing Zbynek Hrdel has been recalled to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League and that he will be available for the Falcons game at Wilke-Barre/Scranton on Friday.

The Chiefs are the ECHL affiliate of the Falcons of the AHL and the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the ninth round (286th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Lightning, the 20-year-old has three points (2g-1a) and two penalty minutes in five games with Johnstown in his first professional season.

The 6-foot-4 and 195-pound Hrdel played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Rimouski and had 128 points (48g-80a) and 219 penalty minutes in 175 regular season games and 25 points (12g-13a) in 22 playoff games.
